Beyond those obvious changes, there are also some innate mechanism changes for players to perceive.

The first perspective change lies in the goals of the game. While money was the only driven goal in its prequel, the Game of Life 2 also includes happiness as another dimension of winning. Therefore, players should take both money and happiness into consideration when make in-game decisions.

Besides, although playing on good morality is also rewarding as it is in the prequel, players of this game are also encouraged to lead their competitors to make negative decisions that would bring trouble to their lives. In doing so, players can sneakingly sabotage their opponents’ life path and trick them to make mistakes. Morality is showing a larger grey zone in this game.

Likewise, although in the Game of Life 2, there are still no mandatory tasks to fulfill, players should consider taking on certain task based on either monetary gain or happiness. Some of the activities that might be less prioritized in the previous game, may very well be reconsidered when happiness and life point card are involved. Tasks that are considered less rewarding in its prequel may turn out to be quite desirable in this new game.
